Fraxel re:store® Laser Treatment
As your skin ages and is exposed to the elements, such as sunlight, it begins to show signs of aging and sun damage in the appearance of wrinkles, lines and age spots. Fraxel re:store laser treatment can reduce many of these skin imperfections, giving you a clear and youthful complexion.
In addition to treating wrinkles and age spots, the Fraxel re:store laser can be used to treat:
- Uneven skin texture
- Discoloration and uneven pigmentation
- Melasma
- Acne and acne scars
- Enlarged pores
Fraxel can be applied in different strengths to treat a wide range of skin problems, from minor sun damage to severe texture irregularities. The treatment works by stimulating your own healing process and helping your skin repair previous damage. Most skin types can benefit from Fraxel, so men and women of all ages may be candidates if they wish to correct damaged and aged skin.

Your Fraxel treatment will take up to half an hour to complete when treating the face. When you begin, your skin will be cleansed with an antiseptic and a topical anesthetic will be applied. The Fraxel Laser handpiece will be passed over the surface of your skin. The healing process is achieved when tiny laser columns penetrate the skin, causing it to immediately work to repair itself through the creation of collagen and elastin. The treatment is precise and only certain areas of your skin within the column of laser energy are affected – the surrounding healthy tissue is left intact. Alternating between periods of laser application, your aestheticia applies cooling to soothe your skin.
After Your Fraxel Laser Treatment
Following your Fraxel Laser treatment, it is likely you may experience some redness and swelling at the treatment site as your skin begins to heal itself. Depending on the strength of your treatment, you may return to your normal routine the same day or you may need several days to fully recover. As your skin will be more sensitive following the Fraxel Laser treatment, it will be important for you to wear an SPF to protect your skin while out in the sun. Additional side effects from your Fraxel Laser treatment may include infection, hyperpigmentation, blistering or scarring, but these adverse events are rare.
