Eyelid surgery for Michigan /Birmingham/Troy patients and patients
from all over the state of Michigan, including Pontiac, Sterling
Heights, Dearborn and St. Clair Shores is a specialty of the
Straith Clinic. A blepharoplasty is performed to remove excess
skin and bulging fat in the upper and/or lower lids. The muscle
may also be tightened depending on need. The result is a less
tired and more youthful appearance to the periorbital region.
The surgery can be performed in isolation or more commonly,
at the same time as a face lift. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty
incisions are made just below the eyelashes, extending slightly
into the crowsfeet lines. The transconjuctival approach involves
an incision on the inside of the lower lid. This method leaves
no external scar but only removes fat. Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
incisions are made in the normal lid crease. The excess fat
and skin are removed.
