Nasal surgery is one of the most popular procedures performed at the
Straith Clinic in Bingham Farms, Michigan between Southfield
and Bloomfield Hills. This procedure can simultaneously correct
the function and improve the appearance of the nose. A septoplasty
is often performed at the same time as a rhinoplasty in order
to reconstruct a deviated septum and to improve breathing.
Incisions may be made on the inside or outside of the nose in
inconspicuous areas. The internal structure is the changed by
altering the cartilage and correcting the bone. These maneuvers help
to reshape the nose into a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The septum and nasal structures obstructing breathing are corrected
to improve breathing as well as to straighten nasal deviations.
During the postoperative period, the skin readjusts itself over the
newly contoured bone and cartilage.
