Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is performed to decrease fine lines, remove facial blemishes, reverse uneven skin pigmentation of the face, and improve skin texture from sun damage. Straith Clinic tries to service their patient in Metro Detroit, Dearborn and West Bloomfield by offering several types of chemical peel solutions/formulas offered from very light peels performed by our esthetician, such as glycolic and Jessner peels, to deeper peels such as TCA and phenol peels performed by our surgeon.

The phenol peel is the strongest of the chemical peel solution and produces a deep skin peel.  The TCA peel is used as an intermediate to deep peeling agent with concentrations ranging from 20 to 50%.  Both peels can be performed on the entire face or on partial facial areas such as lower lids and around the month.  The phenol peel of the entire face is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.  The TCA peel of the entire face and the partial phenol peel are performed in our office surgical suite under IV sedation.
